# Attribution and licences

This is a **non-commercial** fan library. Nothing here may be sold, put behind a
paywall, or used to promote a commercial service. The songs, lyrics, artwork and
charts remain the property of their authors and are used under the licences in
each song's `license.txt`. The conversion adds no new rights.

## Changes

Every included song has been changed from its UltraStar source:

- the audio was separated into six stems with **Demucs `htdemucs_6s`**;
- the UltraStar vocal chart was converted to **Guitar Hero MIDI** and the
  EverythingStar JSON documents;
- the cover was resized **unless its licence forbids derivatives**, in which
  case it was copied byte-for-byte;
- background artwork is **not shipped**; only the cover is;
- no source video is used.

The stems are licensed under the same terms as the source where ShareAlike
applies, and are non-commercial wherever the source is NonCommercial.

## ShareAlike

The Shearer songs, Fairy Bot Orchestra, Steven Dunston and Joshua Morin are
ShareAlike. Their adapted stems and charts are distributed under the same
licence as the source. Attribution is required.

## Chart licences

The Jonathan Coulton charts are explicitly licensed CC BY-NC 3.0 in their
`license.txt`. For the other artists the supplied licence covers the audio,
lyrics and/or artwork but **does not state a licence for the UltraStar chart
file**. The chart authors are credited where the source names them. If you are a
chart author and want a song removed or credited differently, please open an
issue.

## Model

Demucs is MIT-licensed. The model licence does not add restrictions to the audio
it processes; the source song's licence governs the stems.
